About Ben

From an early age Ben has taken a keen interest in music, listening to records at home as a child and dreaming of rock superstardom. At the age of 15 he began his music playing journey by taking up the drums in his Church band, as well as stepping up responsibilities at school by drumming during assemblies and school events.

Hobby Turns Into Career

Drumming quickly developed into a passion for Ben, and he went on to form bands with friends where they took the local scene by storm before venturing further afield. Gathering interest from record labels through a relentless touring schedule, Bens’ band was signed by - and released an album through - Casket Records with worldwide distribution by Plastic Head. The album is still widely available on all major streaming platforms to this day.

Back To School

Lending his talents as a hired gun to several successful UK bands and racking up album credits to his name, Ben decided that it was time to go back into education. Enrolling with Drum Tech London (now BIMM London), he gained considerable experience in developing his technical and theoretical knowledge of music and percussion. With an expanding skillset that traversed a myriad of musical genres, working with some of the UK’s top session musicians – namely the touring bass player with the Spice Girls -, Ben knew that he wanted to inspire others and set upon a new career in teaching.

Passionate About Teaching

Moving closer to home and taking up a place at Canterbury Christ Church University to study for his PGCE, Ben worked with teenagers and young adults in one-to-one sessions, small groups, and whole classes in several schools and college across the local area. Gaining several outstanding observations during his career, Ben knew that he had found his true calling.

The Next Step...

Independent as ever, Ben decided to turn his storage unit practise space into a teaching studio that all budding Rockstars would want to visit. Following several months of hard graft, he is proud to realise his dream of developing the skills of those who want to improve their drumming skills.
